Bandung Book Party 2008 was held during 29 January to 4 February on Landmark Building, Jalan Braga, Bandung. Shared with regular computer expo, Landmark becomes venue for Bandung’s book fiesta. Though it is relatively easy to reach, it is better for Bandung to have larger building for book exhibition. More publishers, more space for visitors, and more extra programs will be able to accomodate and it means an important progress for booksphere in Bandung.

Cubicle booth fulfilled Landmark, represented various publishers. Kid books publishers made their booth up colorful, but I was doubt kids can enjoy visiting this party because of crowd visitors.

Islamic books — both for kids and adults — were sold by more publishers, perhaps indicating the increasing demand to this theme, from religious practices guidance, collection of du’a, to the principle of Islam. The multimedia materials, such as VCD/DVD, casette, MP3 player, are also available.

Beside booths for selling books, talkshow about books was an interesting session for visitor to join. Publishers had opportunities to promote their best sellers by presenting authors or reviewers.

Last and important: almost all publishers offered discount to their products, between 10% and 30%, and very low, fixed, price for older books.
