National magazine, Tempo, exposed a full, nine pages, Iqra centerfold suplement entitled The Story of Ataka’s World Fantasy (Cerita dari Dunia Fantasi Ataka) on 4 March.

Ahmad Ataka Awwalul Rizqi, well-known as “Ataka” is a junior high school student, 14 years old, who gives a “miraculous surprise” in Indonesian booksphere. He lives in Yogyakarta. In his very early age, he has written a fantasy novel, Misteri Pedang Skinhead (The Mistery of Skinhead Sword). It is a trilogy novel and on second part, it even consists of 660 pages! Tempo wrote that Ataka has a long “marathon-style” endurance that makes him keeping rhythm from chapter to chapter stable.

Nirwan Dewanto, one of Indonesian writers, gave his comment that Ataka uses Indonesian language very well, clean, and to his age, it could be very surprising. Arswendo Atmowiloto, other earlier famous writer, praised, Actually, I have stopped on believing miracle in writing world. But, Ataka is an exception.

Together with other similiar age writers in Jakarta and Bandung, this can be a beginning of “novel by kids” in Indonesia.
