Juragan Buku
Back in late 1990 when Amazon was just open and ready to serve, a few people in Indonesia who were interested much having foreign books were quiet happy also considering they were able to order books online. Internet at least helped not only for research to several libraries, but also came as real e-commerce and bookstore was one of them. I worked in academic office at that time and that was a place people talked about Amazon cheerfully.
Unfortunately, several problems arose after that: shipping books to Indonesia was facing (and sometimes still faces until now) various problems. Sometimes it was late enough so people complained to Amazon and they delivered again; and, people got twice same books when their orders actually came even late much. Of course, this was a significant problem for Amazon.
Second, credit card payment got worse after several criminal fraud online transactions. Merchants went into doubt in serving Indonesian visitors and so Amazon did. Even with additional restrictions such as delivery address had to be same with credit card owner’s address, fake transactions increased. Overall, people got more difficulties.
This happened for enough long time. Amazon was only seen for “window shopping” not for purchasing products.
Necessity is mother of all inventions — including business opportunities. Juragan Buku had initiatives to provide a bridge between buyers and Amazon to anticipate above problems. Online transaction to purchase Amazon’s gets easier and shipping is handled better. Furthermore, people in Juragan Buku ever told that their price is also competitive because they buy in bulk order.
I have never yet used their service, indeed. But for you who face various problems ordering books directly to Amazon, have a visit first to Juragan Buku. Perhaps they can help you.
