Visiting IKAPI Book Fair 2007
Finally I go visiting IKAPI Book Fair 2007 today afternoon. It is nice to realize that all passengers in my mini public transportation (that famous “Angkutan Kota” or Angkot in Indonesia) pulled out for book fair. Visitors are in moderate count, even sometimes I must keep patience among crowded people reading or selecting books to buy. In my opinion, Landmark Building is not spacious enough to handle booths and visitors’ attention.
Children books (especially in encyclopedic style) fulfilled many booths, followed by Islamic books. Also interesting that books about Sundanese language and culture spread in several booths with optimal promotions. Every booth tries to attract visitors with 10–20% discount; for example, Tesaurus Bahasa Indonesia is sold with 15% discount from its original price Rp 170.000,00. This discount is actually similiar to Palasari bookmarket’s price but surely book fair is more comfortable and nice to visit. You are safe to do only “window shopping.”
